Held in the shadow of the Main Block, the QRC Small Lime '07 saw the largest turn-out of QRC alumni and supporters in the event's relatively brief history. According to committee member, Michael "Tino" Arjune, "Is de most QRC men I see in one venue since assembly in school!"
Billed under the tag-line "Lime Cyar Done", the event's organizing committee chaired by Willard McIntyre, ensured that the gathering was well watered and fed during the course of the day. Kitchen coordinators Adam McKell and Gerard Manzano outdid themselves for yet another year, adding roasted suckling pigs to the menu.
The day's small goal football tournament saw wide participation, and Sports coordinator Ramesh Ramdeen ensured that games ran smoothly all day. The tournament was won eventually by Larry Olton-led "So What" over Gary Awai's "Who Cares" in a final played under lights.
Music was once again provided by Colin Chambers, who was presented with an award for his annual and magnanimous contribution of time, equipment and tunes. He though gave way on the evening to one of the country's top deejays and Old Boy, Jus Jase, who took the reunion lime down memory lane in a hot after-dark set.
The last Saturday of the year is now firmly entrenched in the College calendar. By all accounts, the event was a resounding success, and a fine time was had by all.
Photos of the day's activity - captured by Keith Francis and Gary Awai - are available here and here.
The members of the organizing committee - Willard, Larry, Tino, Ramesh, Nigel, Dion, CP, Adam, Hugh, Inshan, Danny, Malcolm and Keith - extend their gratitude to all attendees and supporters, and look forward to hosting The QRC Small Lime '08.
A message from the Committee Chairman, Willard McIntyre
On behalf of the Quite Respectable Chaps Committee, I would like to thank all the contributors for ensuring that the event was a huge success. As we continue to celebrate our unparalleled sense of camaraderie amongst the College fraternity, we have an unwavering commitment to assist the school and have a great time in the process.
The proceeds from the Small Lime '07 shall assist the refurbishment of the College canteen and another small project. We expect an even larger gathering of the QRC alumni for the Small Lime on the 27th of December, 2008.
Lime cyar done!
